Max, Danielle and Sylvia came to visit us for two weeks, as you know. After looking through all the pictures Danielle took, here are thirty four of my favorites. Some could use a caption, some have a caption, some are totally self explanatory.
We had a great time! The kids had their ups and downs. There was sweetness, to be sure. But in the latter half of the visit, as Sylvia, social little creature that she is, got braver about trying to be Kurt's friend, Kurt, not-so-social bigger creature that he is, got more freaked about her being in his space, and in the end we had to separate them a bit more than we would have liked.
But there were matching pajamas, brought in secret by D, and put on the kids while the dads went out for an ice cream run:
A morning ritual…Yo Gabba!
This portrait of modern dads brought to you by Ergo:
The girls, one of whom can't sit up by herself:
At Butchart Gardens. What a shot!
Meltdown at the Gorge Waterway Park, as I tried to get Kurt away from swans:
Swans are huge and menacing in real life! I didn't like the look of 'em:
A couple of honest pictures…D keeping Kurt happy, Kurt resisting, Max looking relatively composed, Jeff with somebody on his shoulders, me squinting at the camera and thinking about soda…
And likewise of the moms and babes…that stain on my pants is from Sylvia having puked on me but a moment before. And as for my kids, well, people are always asking me why I've never invested in a professional family photographer. This is why.
