Cats are indifferent conversationalists

Jeff, with my blessing, has gone to Chicago/Indiana for the weekend to see some friends, leaving me here to study, work and spend a lot more time talking out loud to the cats, who only talk back when their food dish is empty. Thus, it's quiet here. And I would say that I stop cooking when I'm alone, but who are we kidding, I never cook. So it's Vietnamese take-out and Subway for me for a few days.

Jeff took the laptop with him, forcing me to actually sit in a chair at the desk and use the desktop computer. I thought, "Hey I can do this. It's only for a few days." I lasted fifteen minutes before I went upstairs to the spare bedroom that we affectionately refer to as "the embarrassing hellhole of chaos we don't let anyone see" and dug out our ancient Compaq Presario 2500. Now, I am happy to report, I'm back in fine form on the couch.

Nursing school went suspiciously well this week. If it continues to go well, then next week will be my last week of clinical before my internship. My friend Lisa is a week ahead of me. Today she finished her last skill in the lab, which is an occasion that calls for much jumping up and down and getting a ton of attention paid to you from the lab staff. Here's Lisa with Erika, our lab instructor:Erika is the instructor who failed me on my Peds skills a few weeks ago, as she has failed me many times on many other skills. She's an excellent instructor, but she doesn't let you get away with anything. She's little and German and intimidating as hell. We adore her.
